Founded in 1959 by a group of enthusiastic sailors, the Blue Water Sailing Club dedicates itself to safe cruising, racing, boating education, and good fellowship among its members. We are a family organization with over 300 members. While centered in Eastern Massachusetts, our members sail the waters of New England, New York, Chesapeake Bay, the Carolinas, and Florida. The Club, run entirely by our members, is an affordable way to belong to a recognized yachting organization.

Covid-19 has been tough, but BWSC is tougher! Though we had to cancel our official cruises this summer, the Southern Cruise, the Women’s Cruise, and the Maine Cruise out of great caution,  we did have multiple socially distant gatherings, and even cocktails in dinghies.  We will hold our Fall Annual Meeting via a Zoom meeting in the effort to avoid Covid-19 harming anyone.
While we do not know what will develop this winter and next spring, I anticipate we will continue to move forward. I expect our winter seminars will be held, but instead of the traditional in person venues, they will be held virtually.
There is work underway for the Marion – Bermuda Race, of which BWSC is one of the three sponsoring yacht clubs. It is too early to know how Covid-19 will impact the race, but we are in the planning stages and optimistic.
In anticipation of an improved COVID-19 situation, soon we will be making plans for next summer’s possible cruises and gatherings, so check here often for developments.  Help beat the Covid-19 challenge by being responsible – wear a mask, wash hands, and be careful near others, so that we can continue to enjoy sailing. We are open for more sailors to join us, whether it be for a cruise, a race, or for friendship. After all, we believe in “Good Times, Good Friends, and Good Sailing”.
