Blog entry #1 – 3/15/18
A presentation on plans for this summer’s Saint John River cruise was given by cruise chairs Dennis McKay and Roy Mayne.  This cruise is intended to be the northern BWSC summer cruise for 2018 from SW Harbor, ME to Saint John, NB and up the Saint John River.  Due to the length of this cruise, the plan allows for two parts to accommodate those with limited time to cruise.
The first, and primary part of the cruise will extend for two weeks, beginning on Sunday, July 29th with a rendezvous at the Great Harbor marina in SW harbor, ME.  It will proceed for three days to Saint John, and thence up the Saint John River for a seven day up and back river cruise.  Friday, August 10th for the return trip to Maine, or other home ports.
The second part of the trip will extend the cruise for another nine (9) days from Saint John with stops at Grand Manan, St Andrews, Campobello Is. and Eastport, ME.
The itinerary for cruising the Saint John River includes stops at the Royal Kennebeccasis YC in Brothers Cove, Kingston Creek, Grand Lake, Gagetown, Washademoak Lake, Jenkins Cove, and Grand Bay as illustrated in the graphic below.
Shore side events are being planned for the RKYC, Gagetown Marina, and Grand Bay at the Saint John Marina.
The Feb 24 presentation can be emailed on request to Dennis McKay at:  dlmckay69@verizon.net.
